Sterling silver, tan silk thread. A small amount of glue has been used to seal off one end of the silk thread.

Sterling silver earrings, oxidised, with an organically shaped section removed from each edge. On the opposite side of each oval the edge is stitched in an irregular border of warm tan coloured silk thread. The gently convex design includes a sparse, asymmetrical pattern of raised dots. The earrings hang from handmade sterling silver hooks.

How great are working Kelpies! This breed’s character and stamina are suited to the tough conditions and long hours of stockwork on farms in the rangelands, and they’re always ready to go again the next day. Typically, their coats are black with small patches of tan like the colour of this silk thread. Other Kelpies have brown or red coloured coats like Lizzie, one of the most prized and beloved dogs to have worked on my family’s farm in western NSW.
